Blackpool’s themed tours start up again

Blackpool Heritage Tours Promenade and Coastal Tours may have been trundling up and down the tramway since early January but this month has also seen the return of some of their popular themed tours. Fish and Chip tours, Ghost Trams and Evening Tours have already got underway with Afternoon Tea tours set to follow from May.

Whilst not specifically aimed at the enthusiast market this themed tours allow the chance to enjoy the heritage trams in a slightly different way. Whether that’s to hear scary ghost stories, eat your fish and chips or get transported to the Blackpool Tower for an afternoon tea. There is also the chance to take a Promenade Tour in the evening.

The types of themed tour are:

Afternoon Tea Tram

The tram runs: North Pier & Tower-Little Bispham-North Pier & Tower

Following the tour you then head to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom for afternoon tea.

Prices: Adults (8+) – £25, Child (3-8) – £15. Under 3s can travel free unless occupying a seat.

Tours depart North Pier & Tower at 1100 on 5th, 19th May, 1st June, 14th, 21st, 28th July, 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th August, 8th September, 6th October

Fish & Chips Tram Tour

The tram runs: North Pier & Tower-Little Bispham-Pleasure Beach-North Pier & Tower

Fish & Chips are provided on board the tram from Papas Fish & Chips

Prices: From £12 per adult (prices increase during the illuminations when your trip includes a tour of the illuminations)

Ghost Tram

The tram runs: North Pier & Tower-Little Bispham-Starr Gate-North Pier & Tower

One of the most popular themed tours offered by Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours with Stephen Mercer regaling participants with ghost stories from the coast.

Prices: Adults – £12, Child – £6

Tours depart North & Tower at 1915 on 30th April, 14th, 28th May, 11th, 25th June, 2nd, 16th July, 13th, 20th August, 3rd, 10th, 24th September, 6th, 13th, 20th, 31st October (31st October features tours at 1700, 1830 and 2000), 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th November

Looking further afield and Illumination Tours run from Saturday 3rd September and will be run every day until Saturday 31st December – except for 17th September (World Fireworks Championships), 25th and 26th December. They can be booked now at https://blackpoolheritage.com/illuminations-tours/.

It has also been confirmed that the previously announced Event Weekend on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July has been delayed to the August Bank Holiday Weekend (27th to 29th August) as the original dates clashed with the Manx Heritage Transport Festival whilst Sunday 17th July will see an enhanced six tram service run in connection with the Fleetwood Tram Sunday event.
