In Pictures: 58 returns to blue fleet livery on West Midlands Metro

And then there was one! Advert liveries on the West Midlands Metro that is, following the removal of a year-long advert which had been carried by 58.

58 – the highest numbered tram in the current West Midlands Metro fleet lets not forget – had been carrying a black based advert for Birmingham City University since September 2024 but this had clearly been a year long contract as October 2025 comes and the vinyls have been stripped off.

It leaves just one tram in the West Midlands Metro fleet which is carrying an advert and that is 52 which has the second advert for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (replacing a previous design carried on 45).

The advert for the City of Birmingham University had been 58’s second ad coming just a month after a short-term ad for KFC had been removed from the tram in August 2024.

58 is seen here at Wednesbury Parkway with the full blue fleet livery shown once again for the first time in just over a year. The tram is working to Wolverhampton Station. At this time alternate departures were working through to Wolverhampton St George’s. (Photograph by Shiv Patel, 11th October 2025)
