The latest Manchester Metrolink M5000 to enter service is 3135. The tram has been noted in service on the Metrolink network at the very start of March and in doing so becomes the 167th passenger tram to run on the system since it opened in 1992.
3135 had been delivered to Queens Road Depot on 29th January 2022 and has taken around a month to be commissioned for service. This is a fairly average time between delivery and entry into service although is longer than the previous two arrivals.
Although its not known if it was its first use it was seen working from Bury to Piccadilly on Tuesday 1st March 2022.
The other newly delivered tram at Queens Road – 3136 – has yet to enter service.
