Man stabbed at Church Street tramstop

A man has been stabbed during a fight at Church Street tramstop in Croydon town centre. The victim suffered cuts to his head, face, ear and chest in the incident which took place on Monday 3 June at approximately 1430. It is believed that the man was with a group of two other friends who left the tram and were approached by a further group of three men who had followed the tram from George Street. The three men believed responsible for the stabbing are described as being in their late teens or early 20s with one mixed race, one black and the other either white or light skinned. The British Transport Police are looking for witnesses to the incident and have reassured passengers that they will be increasing patrols across the network.
