Manchester Metrolink Engineering Works: 1st and 2nd November 2025

There will be more service changes on Manchester Metrolink over the weekend of Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November 2025 with essential improvement works taking place at Trafford Bar.

During the two days there will be no trams running:

  • Cornbrook to Sale Water Park
  • Cornbrook to East Didsbury
  • Cornbrook to Old Trafford

Trams will run:

  • Bury to Piccadilly
  • Bury to Piccadilly (additional peak-time trams on Saturday to combine to a 6 minute frequency)
  • Altrincham to Old Trafford
  • Ashton-under-Lyne to Eccles (will run via MediaCityUK on Sunday only)
  • Etihad Campus to MediaCityUK (Saturday only)
  • Rochdale Town Centre to Exchange Square
  • Shaw & Crompton to Victoria (peak-time extras)
  • Sale Water Park to Manchester Airport
  • Crumpsall to The Trafford Centre

Ian Davies, TfGM’s Network Director, said: “These works are essential to ensuring our tram network remains safe, reliable and resilient for years to and will help us meet increasing demand as more people choose to use to use the Bee Network to get around Greater Manchester.

“The work has been planned for a weekend to minimise the impact on passengers, particularly those who rely on tram travel to get to work. We apologise for the disruption and thank everyone for bearing with us while this work is critical work is carried out. I would also encourage people to plan ahead using the Bee Network app or website.”

Replacement buses will operate between East Didsbury and Victoria, from Sale Water Park to Deansgate-Castlefield, and Trafford Bar to Piccadilly. Tram tickets will be valid on these bus services, but not any regular service buses.
