In Pictures: Uniqlo advert on Edinburgh Trams 254

Another advertiser has returned to Edinburgh Trams after a break with 254 now carrying a vinyl wrap for Uniqlo. These vinyls were added earlier in October 2025 and whilst similar to some previous ads for Uniqlo do differ, particularly on the full height sections.

The familiar red and white Uniqlo logo feature heavily on this advert and then on the full height sections we have images of some of the clothing you can purchase from the shop – which has a store on Prince Street – along with the slogan “Is it cold?” (the answer to which on the day of these photos is yes it is!).

Uniqlo previously had three consecutive adverts on 273 (all full wraps as well) between March 2024 and May 2025.

254 was last advertising Harvey Nichols (from September 2025) and other ads have been for Parabola My Edinburgh Park (June 2018-October 2020), Edinburgh Park (October 2020-August 2023), The Famous Grouse Spirit of Rugby (August 2023-August 2025) and Rabbie’s Tours (August-September 2025).

254 is off to Newhaven when seen about to join York Place from North Saint Andrew Street. The red sandstone building is the Scottish National Portrait Gallery while the building wrapped in scaffolding and plastic sheeting is the former Scottish Equitable HQ in Saint Andrew Square. Its currently being converted into a Clayton Hotel and is set to open in 2026 – it will be the sixth hotel in the square which started off as a residential building.
