Lockdown Walks: Stagecoach Supertram 399 203

We have another five days of bonus “Lockdown Walks” for you this week and in this edition we are back to the Stagecoach Supertram route out to Meadowhall.

The tram-train service to Rotherham Parkgate first carried passengers back in October 2018 and after a two year pilot – which ended in October 2020 – the service is continuing with the concept seemingly proved and other locations in the UK now interested in their own routes. It is currently running a reduced timetable to that which ran pre-pandemic with two services an hour from Cathedral to Rotherham Parkgate.

399 203 is captured just as it leaves Meadowhall South with a service which will head to Rotherham Parkgate.

203 continues it way onto the tram-train route, seen here swerving to the right onto the Tinsley chord and then the shared track to Rotherham. (Both Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 22nd April 2021)
