In Pictures: New advert for Supertram 112

Stagecoach Supertram 112 has received its first ever non-standard livery after it was unveiled in a special advertising livery extoling the green credentials of the tram in an effort to encourage more people to travel on the network. The tram first ran with its new look on Wednesday 9th June when it operated on the Yellow route between Meadowhall and Middlewood.

112’s new look features a green base and orange doors. There is then white writing on the body of the tram including a few vinyls on the windows although no window is completely covered. Among the slogans used on the tram (all of which are definitely factually correct but not particularly catchy!) are “You can help lower emissions by taking the tram”, “All our trams are 100% electric”, “On track for a greener future”, “Connecting people to leisure” and “Connecting people to education”.

At a time when people are going to have to be encouraged to start using public transport regularly again this will hopefully be a step in that direction with not only the convenience of the tram but also the fact it is good for the environment being shown.
