Stop by Stop Nottingham Express Transit: Toton Lane line – Beeston Centre

We have now passed the halfway point of stops on the Toton Lane line on Nottingham Express Transit and reach Beeston Centre – a stop unlike any other!

We leave Middle Street stop and continue running along Middle Street with the biggest landmark we come across being the large Tesco superstore on the right in the direction of travel. As we come to the junction with Styring Street we take a sharp turn right and soon come to the stop at Beeston Centre. With plenty of bus stops also in the vicinity the stop here has two separate platforms either side of the road. The Toton Lane bound platform has its platform face on the right with the second face of this platform being used by buses while all the way on the other side is the Nottingham bound platform which also has the platform face on the right (in direction of travel) with its second side again being used by buses. They may be very separate from each other but both platforms have everything we’ve become used to at Nottingham Express Transit stops.

This is the Toton Lane bound platform at Beeston Centre. The other platform is roughly adjacent to where the purple liveried bus can be seen in the distance.

In this view we look across from the Hucknall platform to the Toton Lane platform where 216 is waiting for departure.
