Most of our attention in Blackpool recently may have concentrated on the trackworks as well as exciting news about trams on the road to their return but another development recently has seen the Unimog undergo a refurbishment and repaint.
Numbered 939 in the works fleet the Unimog, which has the registration number J271 TEC, is a Mercedes road-rail vehicle which has been in Blackpool since early 2002. A familiar sight around the tramway the vehicle was previously in a yellow and orange paint scheme but after refurbishment has now been finished all yellow although doesn’t currently seem to have any external fleet numbers.
