West Midlands Metro upgrade works: 20th & 21st February 2021

There will be disruption to services on the West Midlands Metro network between 2030 on Saturday 20th and the end of the service on Sunday 21st February as a result of essential maintenance works. As a result of these works there will be no trams on the entire network with replacement buses and ticket acceptance on other transport modes in operation.

On Saturday 20th February the last tram from Wolverhampton St George’s will at 2018 and from the Library at 2027, after which there will be no further trams until the start of service on Monday 22nd February.

There will be no replacement bus service during the evening of 20th February but one will run every 15 minutes on Sunday 21st February although will only stop at selected locations on the route:

Wolverhampton Bus Station Stand U

Bilston Bus Station

Loxdale, Loxdale Street

Bradley Lane

Wednesbury Parkway

Wednesbury Bus Station

Dudley Street Guns Village

West Bromwich Bus Station

The Hawthorns

Handsworth Booth Street

Winson Green, Handsworth New Street

Soho Benson Road

Birmingham City Centre Old Square

There will be posters at stops to show walking routes to the closest stopping point for the replacement bus.

As well as the replacement bus – and solely on Saturday 20th February after 2030 – tickets will be accepted on National Express bus service 74 and 79 and West Midlands Railway services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
