Music Festival coming to Crich

Of all the places you may think of heading for a music festival we reckon that the Crich Tramway Village would be quite a way down your list! But that’s exactly what is due to happen on Saturday 12th June 2021 with the Signals Festival due to take place – and the trams will be playing a part!

The official website of the festival – http://www.signalsfestival.co.uk – says there will be an eclectically programmed day where “outstanding musical talent takes centre stage”. An innovative schedule of activity which is suitable for all ages will be included in admission prices with trams being used to transport ticket holders to the main festival site. While the Bandstand will be used for some of the acts there will also be other “stages” including the Labyrinth Stage and Tim Peaks Diner. If music isn’t your thing (which would beg the question why you were going to a music festival but never mind!) there will also be the Quad Film Marquee.

The headline act will be The Charlatans and they will be joined by The Cribs, Ghostpoet, Tim Burgess, Liz Lawrence, Mat Whitecross, Supersonic with more artists to be confirmed soon.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday 4th December with adult tickets at £55, Further details can be found on the official website at http://www.signalsfestival.co.uk.

Obviously with this music festival taking place on Saturday 12th June the museum will be closed for at least this day but its good to see something different being tried which will hopefully show the museum off and maybe get some of those just visiting for the music returning to sample the trams on their own!
