Nexus staff raise over £12,000 for Alzheimer’s Society

Staff at Nexus have raised a total of £12,675 for the Alzheimer’s Society with a virtual check presentation recently taking place to hand the money over. Nexus chose the Alzheimer’s Society as their charity for 2019/20 with various activities taking place during the year to support the designated charity, as nominated staff at the company.

A range of events were held during the course of the year including heritage tours, cake sales, raffles and individual fundraising efforts.

Martin Kearney, Chief Operating Officer at Nexus, said: “Our employees have done a great job this year with their fundraising efforts for Alzheimer’s Society. Lots of staff have got involved, arranging cakes sales and doing charity walks, helping out a really worthy cause. We set a target of £10,000 and we have raised over £12,000. It’s a fantastic sum of money that will go to support people living with dementia in our region. It is support that is all the more important given the devastating impact the Covid-19 crisis has had on the most vulnerable people in our society and the wider charitable sector.”
