Around the World in Trams: San Francisco 1059

Its back to San Francisco we go for another view of a PCC operating on the “F” line back in September 1996.

In this edition we see 1059 operating on the “F” line with this car carrying a “tribute” livery to the Boston Elevated Railway. Once again this PCC started off life in 1948 with the Philadelphia Transportation Company and was numbered 2099 in that fleet until withdrawal came and then acquisition in 1992 by Muni. Restored back to service it received this colour scheme upon completion and is still part of the operational fleet in 2020.
