In Pictures: More from the East Manchester Line

As reported extensively over the past week the East Manchester Line of Manchester Metrolink started passenger services on Friday 8th February (the first three days should have been for local residents in possession of a special ticket only) before full commercial services commenced officially on Monday 11th February. As well as a Photo Gallery from the first day of commercial services (coming soon!) we also bring you a few more images from the camera of Ralph Oakes-Garnett of trams running during the preview service on Friday 8th February.

Nice photos Ralph, I wish I had been able to get a pass for the preview days. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for that Free107. You may be surprised to know those 3 photographs are pulled off HD Video footage, something that would be unthinkable a few years ago.

It doesn’t surprise me, Ralph, the quality of single frames taken off HD camcorder footage these days is unbelievable. I wouldn’t have realised those photos were off camcorder footage, but as I say I’m not at all surprised. They are excellent!
