August track replacement in Nottingham

For two weeks during August services on Nottingham Express Transit will run to a revised timetable with rail replacement works due to take place on the section between The Forest and High School. No trams will be running from The Forest to Old Market Square between Monday 5th and Sunday 18th August whilst this work takes place.

This is the latest part of the original NET network to undergo this essential works and follows on from other similar work between The Forest and Wilkinson Street last summer.

During the works trams will run from Hucknall and Phoenix Park to The Forest and from Old Market Square to Toton Lane and Clifton South. A shuttle bus service will fill the gap from The Forest to Old Market Square serving the stops at Nottingham Trent University and Royal Centre. With Forest Road closed it won’t be possible for this bus service to serve High School.

During the closure of the road for the rail replacement, Nottingham City Council will also take the opportunity to undertake some other highway works.

Constantina Samara, NET Customer Services Manager, said: “The work is being carried out during the holidays as this is one of the quietest times of the year and, although every effort is being made to make travelling as easy as possible, we would ask customers to allow extra time for their journey. Additional staff will be on hand throughout this period to advise customers on how best to complete their journey, and NET thanks them for their patience and apologises for any inconvenience while this essential maintenance is carried out.”

A full NET service is due to recommence from Monday 19th August.
