Work is continuing on the parts of the Blackpool North Railway Station extension of the tramway up Talbot Road that it is possible to tackle as these latest photos from Peter Dockerty show. The worksite adjacent to the railway station is starting to become emptier with limited parts now remaining in situ whilst work is also continuing on the first stages of the new tramstop in Talbot Square itself.
The works compound is home to the components which will be used for the scissors crossover at the terminus – once Wilkinson’s is demolished of course. Until then they wait for installation.
More tram poles wait until they are needed for installation along Talbot Road.
Down at the other end of Talbot Road and work has started on constructing the single platform. Here we see a drainage ditch in situ. (All Photographs by Peter Dockerty)
