Tram allocations for latest Blackpool Gold weekend revealed

Anyone up for some Boating in February? Well if you are then Blackpool is the place to be this weekend (Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th February) with two examples due to run during the weekend which will also see the latest “Gold” appearance of Box 40 before it departures for pastures new.

The standard Winter Gold timetable will be in operation on both days with heritage trams running the entire length of the Blackpool Tramway between Starr Gate and Fleetwood plus various points in between! There will be eight trips running from end to end (each allocated tram will run once with trams “B” and “D” enjoying two journeys) plus a further trip from Pleasure Beach to Fleetwood and as usual there will be plenty of shorter journeys as well.

11 different trams are scheduled to run over the weekend with Box 40 the only one due out on both days (tram “B” on Saturday and “C” on Sunday). As normal tram allocations are subject to tram availability on the day and may be changed at short notice. Details are as follows:

Saturday 23rd February

A – Balloon 723

B – Box 40

C – Standard 147

D – Boat 227

E – Balloon 701

F – Centenary 648

Sunday 24th February

A – Balloon 700

B – Railcoach 680

C – Box 40

D – Brush 621

E – Boat 600

F – Balloon 715

Don’t forget as well that the Shop Tram (set to be Balloon 711) will be stabled at North Pier/Tower for all those tram souvenirs. So if you’ve got to nearly the end of February and realise you don’t know what day it is you can pick up one of the Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours calendars!

Winter Gold takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th February with trams running both days from approximately 1000 and 1730. More details available on the Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours Facebook page.

Nice mix of cars – plenty for every taste.

I agree – Saturday in particular has a very nice line-up, probably the best for variety on a Gold event day for some time. And its February! Quite incredible!
