September Review – Isle of Man: No. 17 – More Crossbench action

The Crossbench Car on the Manx Electric Railway is always a popular choice on a warm sunny day, or indeed even if it isn’t quite as warm and sunny! And it is those Crossbench Cars that we feature in today’s retrospective of the September 2018 Manx Electric Railway 125th Anniversary events.

The first tram featured today is 16, which currently carries the 1960s fleet livery having for several years been found in nationalised green. A popular tram during enthusiasts events we see 16 here on 5th September 2018 when it was being used on a special evening tour along with Ratchet Car 14. The motor is seen just rounding the curve away from Port Jack.

On 6th September and the newest of all the motors is seen at Laxey Station operating a special back to Derby Castle. This Crossbench is 33 and it is partnered with access trailer 56.

32 now carries the nationalised green livery and was a regular performer over the events week. After its day was over on 6th September it is seen here propelling trailer 57 back to Derby Castle Sheds. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior)
