September Review – Isle of Man: No. 9 – Trailers to the forefront

Most of the time when photos of the Manx Electric Railway are featured our attention is turned towards the motor but in this article it is the trailer which is in the foreground.

One of the 1899 built trailers this image shows 46 at Groudle along with Tunnel Car 6.

A replacement trailer built in 1930 is no. 44 which is seen here being hauled by Tunnel Car 5.

Usually partnered with its matching motor, Tunnel Car 7, trailer no. 48 was built in 1899. We see the two here together once again at Derby Castle. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior)
