Around the World in Trams: Rostock 682

Today we find ourselves in Germany as we take a look a member of the tram fleet in Rostock.

The tram system in Rostock originally opened in 1881 powered by horses before it was converted to electric operation in 1904 – and it remains in service today. A standard gauge system there are currently six lines in regular operation.

It is route 2 which we see here with 682 running along Richard Wagner Strasse with a service to Mensa. This tram was from a batch built by Duewag in 1994/5 and is partly low floor.
