Passengers satisfied with Luas

A new survey conducted on behalf of the National Transport Authority has shown that Ireland’s only tram system, Luas, had the most satisfied passengers in the country with 98% of those surveyed saying they were satisfied with the service.

The figures released show how favourably Luas compares with other public transport operators in Ireland. The regional rail service DART only had an 84% satisfaction rating with Bus Eireann at 85%.

Luas scored high with passengers for its ease and convenience, general service and the journey. The only negative ratings given in the survey were for timings and availability of seats although both of these categories only saw 1% of those questioned saying this.

The survey also questioned whether the service had improved over the 12 months and 16% of those who answered agreed with this. The bulk thought the service was the same – 80% – with just 1% thinking the service had got worse (the remainder didn’t know).

In total 301 passengers took part in the survey. The full results can be viewed at https://www.nationaltransport.ie/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/NTA_Customer_Satisfaction_Survey_Findings_2017.pdf.
