Fares to increase on Midland Metro

As from Tuesday 2nd January 2018 most fares will be increased on Midland Metro although City Hop and Group Fares will remain frozen at 2017 prices. In all cases all fares will still be cheaper for those paying by Swift Pay as You Go smartcard.

First off the good news! The City Hop fares (which allow travel between Jewellery Quarter and Grand Central or Priestfield and Wolverhampton St George’s) will remain at £1 with the Swift fare being 90p. A Group Day Ticket will stay at £10 (£9.90 on Swift) and a Group after 6pm will still be £7 (£6.90 on Swift).

All other fares will see an increase. All adult singles will go up by 10p and will now be £2.70, £3.30 and £4.20 (10p lower using Swift) with adult day returns seeing a 20p increase (£3.40, £5.50 and £6.70). The Swift Pay as You Go adult returns will be 10p lower than using cash.

Meanwhile an off peak day ticket will also go up by 20p from £5 to £5.20.
