In Pictures: Midland Metro rail replacement project goes on

The severely over running rail replacement project on Midland Metro between The Royal and Wolverhampton St George’s is continuing as efforts are made to re-open the line this month as promised by Centro earlier this year. In this latest picture update we show the current state of affairs which seems to suggest that there is a lot of work to be completed with some of the excavations not yet fully filled in and a large amount of track still to be laid. The scene just north of The Royal shows track still needing to be laid.

If you wondered how deep the excavations still are this view should give you a pretty good idea!

Work ongoing along Bilston Road.

More track still to be laid on the approach to Wolverhampton St George's.

More track not yet in place.
