We continue counting up and reach the number 3 today.
After plenty of choice with the numbers 1 and 2 it’s a bit more limited with the number 3, in fact heritage tram wise we can only think of one! And that is a tram which was more or less destroyed after a runaway incident on the Snaefell Mountain Railway in March 2016. This was a serious incident which saw the tram – without passengers on board – run off from Snaefell Summit and left the tracks above Bungalow leaving it destroyed. The remains of the underframe were subsequently dismantled. A new steel body and underframe has been built and a new number 3 will eventually return to the tracks.
