In Pictures: Spring Lane road bridge replacement causes Tramlink disruption

Between Saturday 24th May and Sunday 1st June London Tramlink services to Beckenham Junction and Elmers End were curtailed at Addiscombe to allow for the replacement of the Spring Lane road bridge which crosses the tramway at Woodside. This meant that trams from Therapia Lane and West Croydon had to use the crossover at Addiscombe to regain the correct track for their return journeys towards central Croydon. Trams to and from Wimbledon and New Addington were unaffected by the works.

2544 uses the crossover at Addiscombe having terminated with a service which will now return to Therapia Lane.

Blackhorse Lane saw no tram service with a replacement bus service provided instead. This notice was put up to inform would be passengers where to go.

Umm didn't there used to be a bridge here? The gap where the bridge used to be. (All Photos: Ian Buck, 29th May 2014)
