Having been interrupted during December 2025 when we were due to be running “15 Years Apart” we will be returning to the series for the next few weeks. As a reminder the idea behind this series is that we feature pictures of the same tram 15 years apart and today we are off to Nottingham.

Nottingham Express Transit Incentro 202 was one of 15 trams built by Bombardier at their Derby plant (or assembled as is more the case) for the opening of the original system in March 2004. Like all of these trams it has undergone two mid-life refurbishments but when captured on camera on 11th March 2010 it was still in the original fleet livery which tells us that it hadn’t yet received that work. The tram is seen here approaching Basford with a service to Phoenix Park – at this time it would have come from the original Station Street terminus.

15 years later and 202 has now been through the two refurbishments as mentioned above, but is no longer to be found in fleet livery. When seen on 12th September 2025 it was carrying an advertising wrap for Oxford Business College. This ad was applied in November 2024 and was its second wrap, following on from one for the Consent Coalition between March 2022 and October 2024. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
