We go “Side by Side” once more and the system features on this occasion is Nottingham Express Transit.

This photo was taken on 23rd September 2013 and shows two of the original Bombardier constructed Incentro trams going about their daily business. The first refurbishment of the trams (they’ve had one since as well) had started during this year and on the left 202 has already had the work completed as can be evidenced by the fact that its in fleet livery version number two which was mainly silver. Alongside it is 204 which is in a special internal Nottingham Express Transit promotional livery which encourages everyone to “Glide into Nottingham”; this livery was carried from August 2012 and was removed during 2013. The two trams are passing on Cheapside on the city centre section between Old Market Square and Lace Market, with 204 going to Station Street (this was pre the phase two extensions) and 202 is off to Hucknall.
