In Pictures: Edinburgh 267 becomes the 2025 Royal Highland Show advert

Over the years advertisers have come and advertisers have gone in Edinburgh (whilst some have come and stayed!) but there are also some who come, go and then come again, and one of the most regular returners is the Royal Highland Show. And with this year’s Show taking place 19th to 22nd June, the start of May has seen their latest design affixed to a tram – this year’s tram being 267.

This year’s advert is not too dissimilar to the one seen last year with similar artwork and like in 2024 it is a two-sided affair with one side being green and the other being orange. As has always been the case its not a full wrap but a partial advert which, as we are well aware now, means sections three and five of the tram have full coverage of vinyls with all the other sections just including ads above the windows.

This advert becomes the eleventh to be carried by 267 and replaces a year-long advertising contract for Johnstons of Elgin.  Its first advert came back in September 2017 and was one of the many for C R Smith, this particular one being from Largs to Dundee and lasting until June 2019.

There have now been seven adverts for The Royal Highland Show over the years, although initially they were more internal promotions encouraging people to take the tram to the event which takes place at the Royal Highland Showground located not too far from Ingliston Park and Ride.

The previous Royal Highland Show ads have been on:

261 – Edinburgh Trams promotion 2017

276 – 2018

272 – 2019 & 2022

264 – 2023

257 – 2024

The green side of the advert is seen here when the tram was standing at Newhaven. It tells us that the weekend will be full of farming, fabulous food and family fun.

The orange side is much the same except it’s a different colour! (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 3rd May 2025)
