Another month has been and gone at the Seaton Tramway and with April being the first month of the year which has seen trams run every single day there have been plenty of trams out on the line at various points. Of the operational passenger trams – which excludes long-term absentee 7 – all but one carried passengers during the month and the top three trams mileage wise will come as no surprise with the trip of 21st century cars taking the bulk of journeys.
April saw 11 lead the way with 984 miles covered (the equivalent of 164 trips up and down the 3 mile line) with 9 travelling 906 miles and 10 894 miles. 12 as the other higher capacity tramcar was fourth on the charts with 840 miles covered.
Tram 8 didn’t see any use again with it still continuing to cover engineering duties whilst Works Car 02 is out of use being overhauled. Of those which did run, 4 covered the least number of miles at just 24 with 19 also not making it into triple figures at 36 miles.
