In Pictures: Llandudno & Colwyn Bay 7 out again

Saturday 5th April marked the latest occasion that Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Electric Railway 7 made a public appearance. This was an additional run for the one-time Bournemouth 126 and saw it “run” between Penrhyn Bay and West Shore Llandudno in the company of ex-Crosville bus SC12.

As is usual the tram was hauled along the planned route by the trusty Matador lorry with it initially doing a run past at Penrhynside to recreate a scene from the 1950s. After taking a break at West Shore they then made several runs along Mostyn Street with the bus passing in the opposite direction, finally ending up at Craig-y-Don.

No. 7 is next planned to be out for the three day Llandudno Extravaganza which takes place over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend between Saturday 3rd and Monday 5th May 2025. Full details of just where the tram will be located are to follow. Keep an eye out on the Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Tramway Society website at https://tram.wales/

7 is seen with the ex-Crosville bus at Penrhynside. Now owned by a member of the tramway society, the bus was new in 1957 and was converted to a service vehicle in 1975, but returned to being a passenger bus in 1982.

Taken from the top deck of 7 we look down on the bus, SC12.
