Nottingham Express Transit trackworks: 12th to 16th April

There are set to be rail replacement works affecting Nottingham Express Transit services for five days next month, which will see no trams operating between Old Market Square and Nottingham Station.

Starting on Saturday 12^th April and continuing until the end of service on Wednesday 16^th April (the week before Easter weekend) the work will be taking place on Middle Hill and Weekday Cross which will see Lace Market tramstop closed for the duration.

Trevor Stocker, Head of Operations at NET, said: “These upcoming works are part of routine maintenance work we regularly carry out to ensure our network can remain safe and reliable for our customers. Nottingham’s tram network has been running now for 21 years, and undergoing these improvements means that we’re able to ensure we’re running on the best technology, helping passengers get from A-B smoothly.

“We apologise for any inconvenience these upcoming works may cause and encourage customers with any queries to contact us via our online portal, or to speak to a member of our team who will be based at nearby tram stops while the work is taking place.”

During the works the following services will run:

• Phoenix Park to Old Market Square
• Hucknall to Old Market Square
• Nottingham Station to Toton Lane
• Nottingham Station to Clifton South

Although there will be no bus replacement service (except for before 0800 and after 2330 on Sunday 13^th April), agreement has been reached for NET tickets to be accepted on NCT Green Line buses between Angel Row (near Old Market Square) and Carrington Street (near Nottingham Station).

Alternatively prospective passengers are being advised that the walking distance between Old Market Square is 0.6 miles and takes up to 12 minutes.

There will also be preliminary overnight works taking place from Monday 7^th to Friday 11^th April.

Normal tram services are scheduled to get underway again from the start of service on Thursday 17^th April.
