“Out and About” time again as we head into Manchester City Centre to see some of the trams in operation during some summer trackworks.
We’re at Victoria for this photo as we see 3063 arriving with a very confusing destination display! Its coming from the direction of the city centre but the display says its going to Etihad Campus via Piccadilly. This was a special service running during the engineering works with a peak-time Victoria to Etihad Campus service in operation with trams not able to travel from Piccadilly Gardens to St Peter’s Square.
Another of the trams on the special Etihad Campus to Victoria service is seen here. This time its 3067 which is seen just arriving at Piccadilly Gardens.
Looking over the top of the bridge outside Piccadilly Station we look down to London Road where we see 3128 running along the tramway on its way to Victoria. (All Photographs by Steven Hughes, 28th August 2024)
