We look at a tram “15 Years Apart” today and this time we’re off to Sheffield.

The tram we feature is 112 – one of 25 trams built for the opening of the Supertram system in 1994/5 by Siemens-Duewag. By the time we catch up with the tram for the first time – 4th June 2009 – Supertram was being operated by Stagecoach which had led (eventually) to this attractive livery being applied to the fleet. When seen the tram wasn’t in service as it has just departed from Fitzalan Square and is presumably on the way back to depot. (Photograph by Gareth Prior)

In 2024 and the tram no longer carries fleet livery – and indeed is not operated by Stagecoach following the ending of their contract and their replacement by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. Instead its in this special livery which extols the virtues of Supertram’s green credentials. Its seen at Fitzalan Square again and is working a Blue route service to Halfway. Date 5th November 2024.
