More photos in this article, this time coming from Manchester Metrolink during a visit on Saturday 2nd November 2024. We see several trams in advertising liveries as well as others in the usual fleet livery. A demonstration in the city centre meant that some services had to be diverted off 2CC onto 1CC, giving the unusual sight of trams destined for East Didsbury coming into St Peter’s Square from both routes. Steven Hughes is the photographer.

3097 has been advertising Cheez-It since September 2024 and is seen in this photo as it approaches Ashton-under-Lyne (with the large IKEA superstore in the background).

3047 runs across Piccadilly Gardens with a Victoria to Manchester Airport service. The tram has advertising vinyls for the Greater Manchester Good Employment Week. Different colours are used on each side with this the blue side.

Mosley Street is the location for this shot as 3081 runs along the road with a service bound for Eccles. This is another advert which was applied in September 2024 with the advertiser being Juneyao Airlines.

St Peter’s Square with trams arriving and trams departing. A tram heading to East Didsbury on 1CC is on the left with 3115 just departing from the stop on its way to Etihad Campus.

3022 “Spirit of Manchester” is at the head of a double unit which is off to Altrincham. (All Photographs by Steven Hughes, 2nd November 2024)
