Edinburgh Trams will once again run trams throughout the night on Fridays and Saturdays during August as the city becomes alive with festival season. This service has proved to be popular in the past and will see trams running every half hour all through the night meaning that from the usual start-up of service on a Friday morning there will be a constant service until end of service on Sunday night for four weeks.
The special all-night service will run between 2nd and 25th August and will see the following services run on Fridays and Saturdays:
- Every 7 minutes until 0000
- Every 20 minutes until 0300
- Every 30 minutes until 0600
Sarah Singh, Head of Service Delivery at Edinburgh Trams, said: “Once again, a packed programme of activities next month will see hundreds of thousands of people flock to the city, and we’re all set to play our part in what has become one of the world’s most famous celebrations of arts, culture and comedy. In the past, this 24-hour weekend timetable has proved a huge hit with festivalgoers and it’s sure to be as popular as ever this year.”
In addition Ingliston Park and Ride will remain open 24 hours whilst the extra trams run so you can park your car there, visit the Festival and then take the tram back without any worries.
Normal fares will apply on all services, including the special overnight service.
