Discounted Metro travel for Birmingham Pride

Anyone who has tickets for Birmingham Pride later this month will be able to enjoy a 20% discount of tram travel as part of the West Midlands Metro’s sponsorship of the event.

The discount will apply to a zone 1-4 day ticket, all day, on both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May. During Pride there will be performances from artists such as Beverley Knight, Jamelia, Heather Small, Loreen and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Michael Reading-Skilton, West Midlands Metro Head of Commercial, said: “With such an impressive line-up this year, Pride weekend looks set to attract more attendees than ever before. As a result, roads around the city centre will be extremely busy, with parking at a premium, but, thanks to the Metro, getting to the heart of the action needn’t be an expensive hassle. With over 700 free spaces at our park and ride sites, services every eight minutes with trams running until late, everyone can enjoy stress-free travel to Pride including the ever-popular parade.”

To take advantage of the offer, Pride ticketholders need to ensure they have downloaded the My Metro app and scan the QR code on the email they’ll receive over the next few days.
