Early Sunday mornings service change on Edinburgh Trams

Early morning services on Sundays over the next few weeks will see some minor changes to the timetable as Edinburgh Trams undertake some essential maintenance works. Whilst the majority of the works will be taking place overnight it will be necessary for some early morning services to be affected by the works.

The service changes will be in place on Sundays 5th, 19th and 26th May. On these dates the service frequency will be every half hour between the start of service and 0600 and they will only be running between Edinburgh Park Station and Newhaven. Normal services resume from 0600.

Marilena Papadopoulou, Edinburgh Trams Maintenance Manager, explains more: “As part of our scheduled maintenance programme, we will be upgrading joint sealants across the network, with some of the sections requiring a longer working window to complete the scope of works successfully. This will ensure the safety and reliability of future tram services. Works have been scheduled to take place on Sundays to minimise disruption, and customers can contact our Operations Control Centre on X or at help points should they need any assistance.”

To aid people to complete their journeys, tram tickets will be accepted on Lothian Buses Airlink 100 service between the city centre and the Airport from 0530 and 0600 on all dates of this work.
