WMM engineer to appear on Masterchef!

A West Midlands Metro engineer will be swapping his spanner for a spoon this week as he serves up a selection of delicious dishes for judges on the BBC’s Masterchef. Conor Moon will be battling to get through the Heats of Masterchef which will be screened on BBC One at 2000 on Thursday 18th April.

The 28 year old from Birmingham has a passion for fusion cuisine and will now be trying to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

Conor said: “I’ve always found cooking a great way to relax, and appearing on MasterChef has been a dream of mine for years and everybody in my family knows that. Being chosen to compete on MasterChef is an achievement in itself, and being among the nation’s top amateur chefs while having the opportunity to cook for John and Gregg is something I will never forget. I grew up in an area known for its diversity and mix of cultures and it was hard to not be inspired by the different celebrations – all with food at the heart of them. When cooking I aim to put smiles on people’s faces and leave them craving more.”

Sophie Allison, Managing Director of West Midlands Metro, added: “We’re all really excited about seeing one of our own on prime-time television, and hoping he makes it through to the later rounds. If he’s as good at his cooking as he is at his day job, he’s in with a real chance of going all the way to the MasterChef title!”
