In Pictures: Metrolink 3047 loses its Christmas decorations

It may have kept them up a bit longer than convention suggests but Manchester Metrolink 3047 has lost its special Christmas livery and seen it replaced by another advert. This time around the tram is advertising Lululemon in a design which adds a bit more colour to the network.

This new advert again leaves the cab ends free of vinyls (with that part of the tram retaining standard fleet livery) and the remainder has a variety of colours with blue the base along with green, pink and a lighter shade of blue. Lululemon is a sportswear manufacturer.

This becomes the fifth different advert carried on 3047. It started off with an ad for Vodafone (June 2018-December 2019) and since then has also advertised Soccer Aid (April-August 2023), Marc Jacobs (September-December 2023) and the Bee Network Christmas design (December 2023-January 2024).

Other recent advert news has seen the Hamilton vinyls removed (again!) from 3023.

3047 calls at Brooklands with a service to Bury. You can just make out the destination display which tells us the tram is unusually running via Exchange Square because of issues caused by a cracked rail at Victoria. (Photograph by Roland Bull, 19th January 2024)
