Edinburgh Trams resumes full timetable

Tram services across the entire Edinburgh Trams network resumed in full from Saturday 11th November after the completion of essential engineering works. You may be used to seeing engineering works overrunning but in this case it’s the opposite as full service are resuming a day earlier than had originally been announced.

The works got underway on Friday 27th October and have seen essential maintenance works take place on the points at both West End and York Place alongside overhead maintenance checks on various points of the network.

Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams Managing Director, said: “We always aimed to carry out this vital upgrading ahead of what is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year, and thanks to the entire Edinburgh Trams team, we have been able to complete an incredible amount of works in such a short space of time. Delivering a premium service requires a commitment to ensuring infrastructure meets the highest safety standards, and we would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding over the past few weeks while these essential works were taking place.”

A full service is now running on the network again with trams running every 7 minutes during the main part of the day and every 10 minutes outside of this.
