Metro team up with hotel chain for tram travel discounts

West Midlands Metro have started a new partnership with Switch Hospitality Management which will allow guests (and staff) at any hotel within the Switch portfolio to receive discounts of up to 10% on tram travel.

Starting from November 2023, guests staying at hotels within the Switch portfolio – which includes Park Regis Birmingham, Nite Nite and the Aparthotel near Snow Hill – will be able to enjoy up to 10% off tram travel whilst staff from the same locations will enjoy reduced travel expenses when commuting to and from work.

Michael Reading Skilton, Metro’s Commercial Manager, said: “This latest partnership offers a ‘win-win’ for all involved, with guests enjoying cost savings as they navigate around the region during their stay, potentially benefiting local businesses.At the same time, hotel employees will benefit from reduced travel costs, while Metro employees can also enjoy a discount on room bookings at Park Regis Birmingham and other hotels as part of the agreement with Switch Hospitality Management. Adding an attractive staff benefit for the Metro team as we encourage a positive work/life balance for all our colleagues.”
