Heaton Park Photography evening cancelled – evening running confirmed

Unfortunately, the Heaton Park Tramway’s planned Photography Evening (due to take place on Saturday 21st October) has been cancelled because the number of bookings didn’t make it viable and would have resulted in losses for the tramway. But despite the fact that it will no longer be taking place they will still be offering evening running as an extension of the previously announced daytime service in connection with a heritage bus service from the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport.

Trams will now be running from 1200 until 1930 (previously the service was planned to end at 1630), giving the rare chance to take a tram ride after dark through the park.

The daytime service will use Blackpool 623 which will only be able to run from Middleton Road Gates to Whitegate due to a run taking place in the park on this day. Then in the evening Stockport 5 is due to run as part of a two tram service. As the park closes at dusk it will only be possible to join the trams at Middleton Road Gates (if arriving by public transport) or Middleton Road Depot (if arriving by the vintage bus service being operated by the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport). The evening service will run the full length of the tramway though.
