Around the World in Trams: Riga 88025

In this edition of “Around the World in Trams” we are back in Riga, Latvia to take a look at a tram converted for use by the engineering department.

The photo below shows 88025 in an attractive dark blue and light blue livery at the depot in between duties in 2015 by which time it had been four years in departmental use. It was originally built in 1978 and is a Tatra T3SU of which there are over 1000 examples across Eastern Europe still in service. It remained in passenger service until 2011 when it was passed over to works use and that is where it remains today.
