In, Out, Shake it all about?! It does seem that the West Midlands Metro are doing the hokey cokey as no sooner does one tram leave for storage then another arrives back at Wednesbury Depot after completion of repairs at Dudley.
33 had gone over to the Very Light Rail Innovation Centre in Dudley earlier this summer when it became the ninth tram to make the short trip. As with the others which have been there (and the one which hasn’t yet come back) it saw its cracked panels replaced in order to bring it back to operational condition.
Although the last few deliveries to the West Midlands Metro have seen the trams arrive directly at Wednesbury Depot, 33 returned to being unloaded on Bilston Road and then towed back to the depot by another tram. 33 was delivered back early on in the morning of Friday 11th August.
There remains one further tram at Dudley. This is 35.
