The performance data for the Tyne and Wear Metro is out again and unfortunately once again it shows that performance is down – both when comparing it to the previous four weeks and the same period in 2022.
The statistics relate to the four weeks between 25th June and 22nd July and show that:
- In those 4 weeks 78% of trains were recorded as on time
- The previous 4 weeks had been at 80%
- The same time in 2022 was at 83%
No reasons are given for the downgrade in performance although its likely that the highly publicised reliability issues with the Metrocars are high on the list of reasons.
