Around the World in Trams: Rome 2203

Its that time of the week again when we head overseas and its Rome that we stay in this week for this edition of “Around the World in Trams”.

2203 is a MRS type 2 tram which was built for operation in Rome in 1930. There were 133 MRS type trams which were built between 1927 and 1934 with them then being withdrawn between 1996 and 2003 as the system was modernised. This particular tram only survived until 1996 and was scrapped the same year. We view the tram here at Port Maggiore with it working a service on route 11.
