In Pictures: Midland Metro 10 in storage at Long Marston

At last year’s Rail Live event held at Long Marston, Midland Metro T69 10 was a surprise inclusion in the events as it was used by the British Transport Police for a demonstration using armed police officers. For this it received a repaint into a special livery, the third different livery it had carried during its lifetime. 12 months later and another Rail Live event has taken place and whilst 10 didn’t play an active role this time it is still on site as seen in the below photos.

10 was originally delivered to then Midland Metro network on 23rd September 1998 and remained in service until July 2015. After a few months in storage at Wednesbury Depot it was on the move for more storage at Long Marston on 24th March 2016 and that is where it has remained for the past seven and a bit years. Save for repaint not much has happened to the tram since it has been there where it is stored amongst many other items of rolling stock, some old and withdrawn with others yet to enter service and just stored waiting until that happens.

Still without any noticeable exterior marking to identify it, 10 sits in outside storage at Long Marston.
