Revised NET engineering works: 17th & 18th June

It had already been planned that there would be no trams on the Phoenix Park branch over the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June but following the incident at Bulwell earlier in the week more works are now required on the Hucknall line which now means no trams will run between Highbury Vale and Hucknall all weekend.

On Monday (12th June), Citadis 232 struck an overhead pole at Bulwell causing significant damage. Reports suggest that the tram derailed before hitting the pole. No trams have been able to run on the Hucknall line since this happened and repairs have been undertaken during the week with more to take place this weekend.

On Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June the following services will run on NET:

  • Clifton South to Highbury Vale (Phoenix Park branch)
  • Toton Lane to Highbury Vale (Phoenix Park branch)

This replaces the previous plan of Clifton South services being diverted to and terminating at Bulwell. The Phoenix Park branch is seeing planned overhead line replacement work.

A replacement bus service will run looping between Hucknall and Bulwell Bus Station with NET tickets valid on NCT Turquoise and Yellow line buses between Bulwell Bus Station, Cinderhill and the city. Tickets can also be used on East Midlands Railway services between Hucknall and Nottingham.
