Extra enhanced Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours for Fleetwood Tram Sunday weekend

Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours have announced that they will be running an enhanced timetable of tours over the weekend of Fleetwood Tram Sunday (Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July). The timetable for the Saturday of the weekend has already been revealed and is the standard Enhanced Weekend timetable with more details of the Sunday to follow.

In the originally announced plan for 2023 there were no details given of an Enhanced Weekend of operation for the Tram Sunday weekend (officially the Fleetwood Festival of Transport) so the news that it will be taking place is a positive development giving those in town who wish to see more heritage trams out on the tramway the chance to get several rides/take those photos they want.

Saturday 15th July sees the now standard five tram output with first tram from North Pier and Tower to Thornton Gate at 0955 and the final tram of the day being a 1715 departure from Fleetwood to North Pier and Tower (arriving at 1753). This also includes the double trams at Fleetwood at the end of the day with departures at 1710 and then 1715.

Also taking place on Saturday 15th July will be the latest Full System Tour. This is a four hour tour which takes in crossovers, loops and more which aren’t usually covered in a standard tour. Details of the route will be revealed shortly before the weekend.

Sunday 16th July will see another day of heritage tram operation although as is the norm nowadays these will only be able to run as far as Fisherman’s Walk and not Fleetwood Ferry with the Tram Sunday festivities taking place. The timetable for this day is to follow but it is set to include Open Boat Specials between Fisherman’s Walk and Thornton Gate. Its also planned that there will be a Shop Tram at Fleetwood and expect some static trams on display as well.
